About Us

Our management team is a combination of gaming industry veterans and seasoned professionals with a wide range of experience.

Cindy Armstrong, CEO

Cindy Armstrong brings a wealth of over 20 years of experience in operations, business development, and finance to the team at Electric Bat Interactive. Her background includes serving as the CEO of Webzen America, Vice President of Business Development at Sony Online Entertainment, and Director of Sales Analysis and Planning at Nintendo of America. Previous responsibilities included strategic planning, international publishing operations, developing licensing opportunities, scouting new products, and exploring innovative business models.

Although she would not categorize herself as a traditional hardcore gamer, she does plan on outwitting the entire development team while secretly playing Electric Bat Interactive while they are burning the midnight oil on the next version of the game.

Michael E. Heisley, Chairman

Michael E. Heisley is Founder of The Heico Companies, LLC, and hopes to increase his #215 game ranking in the Forbes 400 with his investment in the innovative online gaming company, Electric Bat Interactive, where he currently acts as Chairman.

The 40 businesses owned by Heico and its subsidiaries have revenues of $2.0 billion and employ approximately 10,000 people in varying capacities in the United States and internationally. Besides owning and operating businesses that span the gamut from steel wire, plastics, and aerospace, Mr. Heisley is also a majority owner of the NBA Memphis Grizzlies.

Mr. Heisley resides in Jupiter, Florida with his wife, Agnes. They have five children and twelve grandchildren.

Jonathan Hanna, Executive Producer

Jonathan Hanna understands that the role of a good producer is to buy lunch. He just demands it be at a restaurant of his choice as long as it serves any of the two foods he eats for lunch. After working as a producer, community director or designer for over 12 years, he’s bought a lot of lunches – and he’s also helped bring you the worlds of Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Lord of the Rings Online, and World of Kaneva. In his free time, he plays poker, spends time with his wife and son, and wants to know if he can buy a new car yet.

Terry Murphy, Marketing Director

Terry Murphy has held positions in marketing, product management roles in technology companies for over 20 years. Starting his career at Lotus Development back in the day, Terry soon moved to the wild world of start-ups and was an early participant in the eCommerce and eDiscovery markets. At one time, Terry was a not-so-secret agent of the New Zealand government marketing the emerging Kiwi high tech industry to potential American transplants. Although he’s relegated to the old-guy league, Terry still plays baseball (the real thing) and occasionally hits one out of the park. He also enjoys woodworking, kayaking, reading, and art in his spare time. New to Austin, Terry is waiting in terror for the famed summer swelter.

Mark Powell, Director of Game Technology

Prior to joining Electric Bat Interactive, Mark Powell worked on a super-secret project at NCsoft. Before that, he developed super-secret projects for the Army. After eleven years of that, he’s extremely excited to be working on a project that he can actually tell people about. Mark enjoys his free time with his wife and two adorable daughters. He is also enjoying newfound hatred of donuts and a tick phobia, though not necessarily for the same reasons.

Susan Kath, Producer

Many years ago, Susan found herself standing in an open field west of a white house with a boarded front door. There was a small mailbox there. With that “Welcome to Zork” moment, she fell in love with video games and her future career as a game designer was born. In the last 13 years, she’s worn many hats in the game industry, working in design, development or publishing to bring out GemStone III, CyberStrike II, Ultima Online, Lineage, City of Heroes, Lineage II, Guild Wars, Auto Assault, and Tabula Rasa. She can be captured in the wild using a trap baited with copies of The Hitchhiker’s Trilogy, passport stamps to exotic countries, and cuddly, furry animals of any shape or size.

Shawn Alan Peters, Art Director

Shawn was born, on February 17, 1972, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 9 months after being conceived in the back seat of a ‘69” Chevelle SS at a drive-in theatre. At an early age he was inspired by the art of the Hildebrandt brothers and Star Wars. He then studied art at Carnegie Mellon University while in high school. He was then offered a scholarship and attended Ringling School of Art and Design from 1991-1995.

Since that time, Shawn has had the opportunity to wear many hats over the years and pick up a variety of skills on the way. He has worked in multimedia design, commercials, film, animation, and games. He has enjoyed work as a concept artist, matte painter, maquette sculptor, modeling supervisor, graphic designer and editorial illustrator. He has a deep understanding of anatomy, color theory, composition, perspective and various production processes. He believes strongly in process, expediting production, inspiring creativity, experimentation and having fun.

Trey Ratcliff, Futurist

Trey does not know how he got that title, but it’s probably because he is the eternal optimist at the company who has the unenviable task of persuading people that the future is going to be one way over another.

Trey’s childhood fascination with computers and escapism translated into a major in computer science and an internship programming EEPROMS for nuclear power plants, none of which have melted down (to date). He then took this circuitous life onward into the violent world of the Big 6 with Andersen and other consulting firms, where he worked on a variety of products including cable television, healthcare, energy, telecom, and supply-chain management. While not wanting to limit his mistakes to any one industry, Trey has since ventured out into the right-brained world of photography and gaming, both of which, his optimistic nature tells him, are gonna work out okay.

Chris Graf, Director of Technology - Operations

Chris began his career in online gaming at Origin Systems, just prior to the start of the Ultima Online beta test. Chris was instrumental in growing the online presence of Origin and UO. He was also a major contributor to MyUO - the first web-based character profile pages of their kind.

In 2001, Chris followed the Origin founders to help launch NCsoft's North American office. He wrote the billing and account system that was used for the simultaneous launch of Lineage II and City of Heroes. He continued to grow his portfolio to include management and contributions to more than a hundred websites for more than thirty shipped products and expansions.

Chris joined Electric Bat Interactive in 2007, with a deep-seated belief in the amazing potential of layered reality gaming. He currently manages the web, billing, and technical operations teams.

Tom Harrington, Director of IT

As Director of IT, Tom is responsible for IT operations and datacenter deployments. Putting this into theatrical terms, we build and maintain the stage that the developers' work is shown upon. With over 16 years of diverse IT and engineering experience, ranging from datacenter operations to corporate IT to programming, Tom is able to seamlessly bridge the gap from development through to operations.

Prior to joining Electric Bat Interactive, Tom was the Director of IS for NCsoft Austin, responsible for corporate operations, development support and the successful launch and operation of major MMOGs.

When not consumed with learning new technologies, Tom enjoys time with his family and competing in precision driving events.

Kimberly Wale, Director of HR

Kim signed on with a start-up development studio in the early 90s and has been hooked on the game industry ever since. It has been her good fortune to make her career in this creative and dynamic sector. She is an SPHR and her past experience includes Sega, Midway, Ion Storm, Retro Studios, BreakAway and Boss Game Studios.
